Overview

Ashton_GrainBin is a MeshCore repeater located at JockBrae Farm in Ashton, Ontario, installed on the farm's grain elevator.

The elevated site provides a good vantage point for coverage through the Ashton, Beckwith and surrounding western Ottawa / eastern Lanark County area.

Installation

The repeater antenna is mounted approximately 134 ft (41 m) above ground on the JockBrae Farm grain elevator.

The grain elevator provides an excellent existing structure for getting the antenna well above the surrounding terrain without requiring a dedicated communications tower.

Sister installation

A sister installation is located at my sister's JockBrae location on Fallowfield Road in Ottawa.

8120 Fallowfield Rd (Jockbrae)

Together, the two JockBrae installations provide elevated sites on opposite sides of the western Ottawa / Beckwith area and form part of the growing Ottawa MeshCore infrastructure.
